THE GREAT CAPE WALK

Call for Artists

A call for artists for handmade Capes

This is a live event in New York City, on October 24th 2009, artists will gather at
The Metropolitan Museum of Art and walk down 5th Avenue, to an after event. This event will be filmed, photographed and documented.
Since the beginning of recorded history, Capes have appeared from before Christ to our latest day Superhero, in images of cave man, to master paintings of warriors to angelic beauties with flowing Capes. This one article, the Cape transports our imagination, if only for an instant.

“Somewhere in some forsaken place, there is someone creating something unimaginable, if we are lucky we may catch a glimpse.” Unknown writer

Since 2001 Strange Bird Productions, has been presenting underground events in New York City, working with the most obscure and hidden artists, temporary locations, and word of mouth gatherings to create live works. In 2007-2008 The Village Voice project included unknown artists from South Africa, Asia, Europe,
Australia and The United States for fifty-two weeks.
The great Cape Walk will begin at 5:00pm, October 24th, 2009.
Gathering at The Metropolitan Museum and walking sixty blocks to an after event, at Dusk
a small bar between 6th and 7th ave. on 24th Street.
